History and scope of Asian Foundry Congress

The first Asian Foundry Congress, supported by the Japan Foundry Engineering Society, was held in Sendai, Japan in 1992. The Congress has been recognized as a major meeting in the science and technology of casting in Asia. Unfortunately, the congress has not been held since 2019 due to the pandemic of COVID-19. The Japan Foundry Engineering Society is pleased to announce that we will have the 16th Asian Foundry Congress at Kiran hall (Day 1) and Muroran Institute of Technology, Muroran (Day 2 and 3), Hokkaido, Japan on Dec. 1-3, 2023. The hall “Kiran” is located in downtown of Higashi-Muroran. We strongly encourage researchers, engineers, and students to join the meeting for sharing the recent progress in the science and technology of casting. Please feel free to ask anything on AFC.

The local organizing committee looks forward to seeing you in Muroran, Japan.
